Here are few tips to fix these Wi-Fi issues to make a smooth upgrade to iOS 10/10.1/10.2
#1: Force Restart
There is not harm in forcibly rebooting your iPhone to see it helps. Simultaneously hold Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least ten seconds, until the screen goes blank and Apple logo appears.
#2: Forget Wi-Fi Network and Re-Join
If you’re unable to connect to a Wi-Fi Network, and being prompted that the password you’ve entered is wrong even you are entering the correct password, then forget the Wi-Fi network, and re-join it back.
So, here is how you can forget the Wi-Fi network:
Step#1: Go to Settings>Wi-Fi.
Step#2: Tap on the Wi-Fi network in the list.
Step#3: You will be prompted with a popup message asking you if you want to forget Wi-Fi Network.
Step#4: Click Forget to forget the network.
Step#5: Go back to Settings > Wi-Fi, again choose the network, enter the password, and re-join the network to see if it helps.
#3: Reset Network Settings
You might have experienced that most networking related issues got fixed after resetting network settings. Resetting the network settings clears caches and flushes DHCP settings and other network related information.
To reset network settings, go to Settings app and navigate to Settings > General > Reset and tap on Reset Network Settings.
#4: Disable Wi-Fi Networking Services
Some people have reported that they’ve fixed their issues by disabling Wi-Fi networks following the path under Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services.
This specifies only to your location being used for Wi-Fi Networking, so it do not disable Wi-Fi completely.
#5: Set Custom DNS
Sometimes, your ISPs DNS server face issues, at that time you can switch to Google DNS or Open DNS. Follow the instructions summarized below to change your DNS settings.

#7: Restore and Setup as new iPhone
If none of above tips resolves your issues, then go for the last option i.e. to restore your iPhone via iTunes, and set it up as a new device.

Step#1: Connect your iOS device to the computer.
Step#2: Select your iPhone touch when it appears in iTunes (next to iTunes Store button in the top right corner).

Step#4: iTunes will prompt asking you’re sure you want to restore your iOS device to factory settings. Click the Restore button.
Step#5: After your iOS device is restored to factory settings, it will reboot your device.
Step#6: Now, you’ll see the “Hello” screen with a “Slide to set up” slider. Follow the on-screen instructions to setup the iOS device.
